Rules for Success in Mrs. Bradley’s English class:
The following rules are in place to help ensure a productive working environment for my students, and they also teach students the keys to success in the “real world.” Strategies for success in school are the same strategies successful people use in the “real world”: life skills, respect and hard work! Of course in the real world, those who choose not to follow the rules must face consequences, and the same is true in school. Students who break the class rules will receive unwanted phone calls home, break/lunch/after-school detentions and in some cases more severe consequences with the administration.
1. Use Life Skills.
2. Respect yourself and others.
3. Work hard.
4. No food, gum or drink in class.
5. Cell phones must be off and in backpack (not in clothing pockets).

Tools for Success:
Every day in class my students will need:
Homework:
Regular homework is an important part of my students’ learning and grades. Homework is NOT “busy work”! I expect my students to think hard and respond thoughtfully when completing homework. Poor effort on homework usually results in poor grades.
Late work:
Students must learn to turn their work in on time, so there is a penalty for late work. Work turned in late earns no more than 60% of the points possible. Time management is an important skill to learn! (Late work due to an excused absence is accepted for full credit, of course.)
Absences:
If a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to see me to find out what was missed. It is best to speak to me at lunch the FIRST day back after an absence. Students are encouraged to email me to get help after an absence.

- your charged iPad
